Uchiken; 3H`s owned Home Nursing station achieves accreditation as Certified Home Nursing Service Provider, Enabling Enhanced Access to Clinical Trials for Patients

3H Medi solution Co., Ltd. Tokyo, Toshima-ward; represented by CEO Hirotaka Takizawa proudly announces its recent accreditation as a designated home nursing service provider. This accreditation, obtained on November 1, 2023, applies to home nursing station “Uchiken” (referred to as “Home Visit Uchiken”), specializing in clinical trials, clinical research, and related endeavors. This achievement underscores 3H’s commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery and further solidifies its position as a leader in the field.

Expanding Access to Clinical Trials Through Home Visiting Nursing Services

Traditionally, clinical trials have predominantly taken place within medical institutions, posing challenges for individuals facing difficulties in attending due to symptoms of illness or geographical constraints. In response to these challenges, 3H has been pioneering “home-based (visiting) clinical trials” since 2019, utilizing visiting nurses. Through extensive discussions with government agencies, medical institutions, and trial sponsors, we have developed a unique scheme for home-based trials, collaborating with local visiting nursing agencies to enable visiting nurses to conduct trials in participants’ homes. As of October 2023, we have supported the implementation of this approach in 65 trials.

To further enhance the implementation of home-based trials and address the needs of trial participants, “Nursing Station; Uchiken” has obtained accreditation as a designated home nursing service provider. Our nursing station Uchiken boasts a registry of over 200 visiting nurses nationwide.

At 3H, we manage home-based clinical trials utilizing visiting nursing services on behalf of pharmaceutical companies both domestically and internationally, collaborating with multiple visiting nursing agencies. In remote location deep down inside mountains where the collaborating home nursing agencies are unable to offer its services or unable to conduct visits, our nursing station “Uchiken” will step in to provide coverage. Through collaboration between partner nursing agencies and our owned nursing station “Uchiken”, we aim to resolve geographical challenges and create an environment where participants can easily engage in trials that align with their preferences.

3H contributes to the advancement of the Decentralized Clinical Trial (DCT) environment by providing nationwide home trial services through “Home Nursing “Uchiken.”

Examples of Services Provided

Interviews, vital signs, blood sampling, urine sampling, electrocardiograms, blood sample smears, physical measurements, spirometry, specimen processing, investigational drug distribution, intravenous administration, intravenous drip administration, online medical consultation support, informed consent explanation support, 24-hour health observation within the accommodation facility (also specializing in pediatric oncology experience/oncology experience).
