Pharma Friday – Fact #5 – Where Did The Word “Pharmaceutical” Originate From?
Answer: The word pharmaceutical dates all the way back to the 1600’s. The word has roots in both Latin and Greek. In Latin, the word stems from the term pharmaceuticus meaning “from drugs.” In Greek, the original word was pharmakeutikos, “someone who prepares medicine.”
